Initially retained by the County to review the existing project budget and construction costs, the County subsequently retained to mack5 to assist in establishing a revised budget and re-scoping the project to fit that budget. Currently working as part of the Construction Management team, the mack5 scope is Project Controls & Cost Management services. The renovation has been phased to keep the campus functions operating throughout the entire construction period of eight years. Due to the extended construction period and volitive construction market in healthcare, special consideration was considered in the project budget – mack5 carefully developed a mechanism for escalation that is fair and real to all parties involved. mack5 also provided project management services for the project’s Make Ready work.
