As Project, Construction and Cost Managers, mack5 was involved from the outset working with the owner, youth, program manager, community groups, and business participants such as Intel and Autodesk, to develop the center’s programmatic elements and space requirements. One significant goal achieved was to involve youth to understand, critically review, and help decide – based on budgetary constraints – how to best develop the project. Program elements included the Intel Computer Clubhouse, teaching kitchen, music venue, study hall, arts studio, tutoring rooms and other multi-purpose spaces.
