The City of Richmond received a $5 million Proposition 84 grant from the State of California to design and build Unity Park on the Richmond Greenway. The Project has brought together different non-profit organizations and community groups who have been working on the Greenway over the years under one umbrella organization, Friends of Richmond Greenway (FORG). Included are Pogo Park, Urban Tilth, Eco Village Farms, Groundwork Richmond, The Watershed Project and Richmond Friends of Recreation (RFoR), all of whom worked on the Project during its design and construction phases. mack5 has been working with the designers, the City of Richmond and members of FORG, coordination community involvement and providing pre-construction services and construction management for the Project.
The project covers several city blocks and includes playgrounds, wooden bridge, shade structure with picnic areas, restroom buliding, raised community planters, walking path, lighting and community art.
